We are heartbroken 💔 Friday, Tiger Piccolo crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈 And we are all still in shock 😭

This sweet boy came from a couple in Qatar, who rescued him from the streets. A few weeks after he came he went into foster care with an amazing couple. They wanted to adopt him. Not long after he went to foster they noticed he wasn’t his normal playful self. He wasn’t eating and his breathing was laboured. He went to the vet and they removed 200ml of fluid from his chest. Two days later he had 270ml of fluid removed. We started him on FIP treatment and within three days he was improved to his normal self. He came back to the sanctuary where he shared the kitchen with Kitty for two weeks. We thought he was on the way to a full recovery.
Last weekend he went back to his foster and he was still his happy, hungry self until on Thursday evening his breathing was faster than normal. Yesterday he went back to our vet in Nusle to find out what was wrong. X-rays, ultrasound revealed he had fluid again so he was sedated to drain it. Sadly the fluid was blood this time and they believe he had a lobe torsion, which is extremely rare 😿 He didn’t wake up 😭😭😭😭

It’s devastating to lose an animal especially one so young and full of life. One who had made the long journey to get to us for a better life. He touched everybody’s heart. His fosters, who adored him wrote a memorial poem 💔
We will never forget you Tiger Piccolo 💔
